 Thoroughly Modern Millie

by Sabina Hillman and Mary Hart

It's 1922 and modern women are bobbing their hair, raising their hemlines, entering the workforce, and rewriting the rules of love. Millie Dillmount, a fearless young lady fresh from Salina, Kansas, arrives in New York believing herself to be "thoroughly modern” and planning to marry for money rather than love. Although hired by an attractive employer -- her first marriage prospect, she finds romance and thrills when she meets a devil-may-care playboy.

“A darn near perfect family show.”
Thomas Burke, Talkin' Broadway, 2002
